We believe that there are no simple answers to the causes of illness—rather a complex interplay of social, economic, genetic, and personal circumstances; and, likewise, there are no simple solutions to cure it. Although we encourage personal responsibility and growth, we do not believe that someone falls ill because they either possess an inborn biochemical defect or a character flaw and lead an imperfect life.
