At Hairandwigs.com we understand the concerns and hesitation many people have towards wearing a wig. Obviously no one wants their hair to look like a wig. Both men and women are afraid of wearing wigs because of the wiggy look. I know the feelings, you are always thinking that everyone knows you are wearing a wig.
The good news is wig making has come a long way. The wig technology is very advanced, for example the synthetic fibre used is top quality and is now so realistic it is usually used as a substitute for human hair. Wigs today look very natural, the monofilament wigs are hand tied at the top on a very thin mesh mono material.
The construction of the cap is very important and most people overlook this when buying a wig. A proper monofilament wig cap will allow enough ventilation causing the wig cap to be cool and comfortable. This type of wig cap is suitable for someone experiencing hair loss with a sensitive scalp. Another advantage of wearing a monofilament cap is that the material is sheer and has a skin-like appearance whereby this helps the cap blend in with the color of your skin. This gives the illusion as though the hair is growing from your scalp.
Human hair wigs are considered the top of the line in wigs. However if you do purchase a top of the line human hair wig, it requires special care.
With the right products and proper styling a first grade remy human hair wig will last a very long time, much longer than a synthetic wig. The life expectancy of your remy human hair wig will be determined by how well you take care of it, for example you must use the proper products, shampoo and conditioner.
Shop our Raquel Welch bob styles and you are sure to find the perfect style for you or you can purchase a human hair wig and style it just the way you would like, to accomplish your desired length and volume of hair. Plus we can give you pointers how to create your award winning looks.
Choosing the right hair wig can be very difficult since one has to take into consideration several aspects such as your skin colour, your facial shape, and most of all your budget.
Unlike synthetic hair wigs, a proper human hair wig looks more natural and may not be damaged by heat sources like straightening irons or blow dryers. A good quality Remy human hair wig or virgin Remy human hair wig can be curled, trimmed, styled, or coloured.

Traditionally there are a total of seven facial shapes. In order to choose the most flattering style of wig, consideration should be given to your facial shape.
Oval — This face shape is evenly proportioned and works well with just about any hairstyle, length and texture.
Round — The Round Shape face requires added height to narrow the width of the face and lengthen the neck. The hair should be combed close to the sides of the face and at the nape.
Square — The Square shaped face requires height on top and narrowness at the sides. The wide jaw can be softened with curly textures and wisps of hair around the face.
Oblong — The Oblong, shaped face has a very long and narrow bone structure. A fringe or slight bang and soft waves or curls in the crown and nape areas help to soften and create the illusion of an oval.
Heart — The Heart shaped face has a wider forehead and a narrower chin. A fringe over the forehead will soften the width. The hair should sit close to the head at eye level and then fill out slightly from the ears to the jaw.
Pear — The Pear, shaped face has a small or narrow forehead and wider, larger jaw. Hair should be combed to add width around the eyes and through the crown. Then smoothed close to the head on the sides and at the nape.
Diamond — The Diamond, shaped face is narrow at the forehead and the chin, with wide cheekbones. Bob styles wigs work well for this shape and a fringe helps to cover the narrow forehead.
Remember — before you purchase a wig please, measure your head size — it is very, very important you know your head size.
If you are thinking of learning to make wigs, before you spend thousands of dollars on endless wig making courses, please think twice about it and ask yourself a few very important questions.
If you decide to study how to make hand made wigs, how many wigs do you intend to make per month? Hand tied wigs takes a really long time to make. I, as a top wig maker, take quite some time to make one quality hand tied wig.
I have seen so many students over the years spend thousands of dollars on wig making courses. Some instructors that teach these courses hype up the classes by making tapes and crappy flyers to fool the students.
Sometimes I feel really sorry when students call me and tell me how many thousands of dollars they have spent and did not learn anything. Remember all that glitters is not gold, please think twice about how you are going to make back the money you will spend on these wig making courses.
Also try to think about the courses you are going to take - for example do you want to make machine sewn wigs or hand tied wigs? Or would you just like to repair wigs?

Top of the line hair extensions are called the cuticle hair. Why? Because hair with the existing cuticle on moves and feel soft like your own hair. Hair with the cuticle on, I really do not care if it is European, Chinese or Indian hair, cuticle hair is considered top of the line human hair.
But one should further make sure, even if the cuticle is on the hair, the hair could be non Remy which would cause a bird nest tangle if it is not processed, therefore you should always make sure the cuticle hair is all going - or should I say flowing - in the same direction your own natural hair grows, meaning the cuticles should not be reversed.
In conclusion cuticle hair is first grade human hair with the hair cuticles all flowing in the same direction, meaning the root of the hair is with the root of the hair and the tips of the hair is with the tips of the hair - they should never be reversed, no matter what. If the hair is not all flowing in the same direction there will be massive problems with tangles.
Always purchase cuticle Remy first grade human hair for beautiful finished hair extensions or you can also purchase cuticle Remy human hair wigs. For further information call us at 416-694-5553 or after hours at 416-624-6560.
Today I have decided to share my opinion about the most important machine in the hair industry, which is called the wefting machine.
This machine wefts the hair together and prepares the hair in the making of wigs and hair extensions. One must be carefully trained on this machine and I remember when I was trained to used this machine how much I hated it, but after i realized the importance of this machine in the hair industry I fell in love with it. Threading was very difficult in the beginning because some wefting machines have two machine heads and I was first trained to use the three headed wefting machine which was really difficult to thread. However once you master the art of threading you will fall in love with this machine when you see all the things you can manufacture with it. I also like the fact that one has the option to glue the hair as you sew or just sew the hair without the glue.
If you are thinking of purchasing a wefting machine, please shop around since there are many inferior wefting machines out there. Do not order this machine on-line like some of my students did. Please be properly trained on this industrial machine and you also will fall in love with it.
For further information regarding training or the purchase of this machine please call 416-694-5553 or 416-624-6560 or visit www.hairandwigs.com
